Men have biological clocks..

I love babies and children. I used to be the kind of girl who turns up her nose at that mother with one on her shoulder crying and another running away screaming.. but then I had an epiphany.. a brief but life changing experience of motherhood. Since then, I offer travelling moms help, I gurgle and coo at babies, am genuinely amazed at how quickly they grow, I willingly offer to and ENJOY babysitting my friends kids and look forward to having a few of my own. I've also come to realise that it's important to me that I find a mate who feels this way about kids too. I was horrified when one of my male friends made a comment that children are like pets.. and he was serious.
Anyway, one afternoon I was at a summer festival and playing with a friends baby. She was the prettiest little girl I have seen in awhile with the cutest smile. [I don't care who says its gas]. She was fussy and I was taking her for a walk. As I strolled through the crowd and chattered in baby talk, I bounced into a guy I used to date. (Nothing negative, we had just kinda drifted apart.) 'Looking good!' he said, and leaned over to kiss me on the cheek. I smiled and continued on my way. A little later I saw him coming my way again. He kinda hovered over me and the child in this strangely protective manner and hung around attentively for a long time. That evening he called me up and invited me out to dinner...
I think he was used to seeing me in a professional and/or party mode and he was strangely turned on by this out-of-character motherly image of me. What do you think?

There are definitely some men who get turned on by women with babies. I try to avoid being seen with kids by my man - I love kids and want them and soon ... just not as soon as him who would be happy with one in 9 months! So I avoid putting the idea in his head!

yes, I agree. Some of them certainly do have that reaction. And yes, children are like pets, except they eventually grow up and learn to feed themselves and wipe their own ass. Isn't it great?!

I think that's what differeniates the real men and the players...the real ones want to see you with the little ones to make sure you can hold you own. The players see the scene and make a comment about your biological clock....

I think the guy wanted to get back with you from the first time he saw you. Why else would he leave that "looking good" comment? Seeing the baby made him wanna take advantage of your biological clock.

May be that he saw you as distant/cold in your professional life. You revealed the softer side and made him think twice..Of course I have no idea what am saying but it sounded good:)

Some men get turned on by a woman's attention going elsewhere.

Or maybe he's just a genuinely interested guy.

comment about your biological clock..check

you told him it wasn't your kid right? cause if I see a woman with a baby it doesn't lead up in asking her out to dinner. What the hell was he thinking?

well you know what, I think the guy is interested. There's nothing wrong with that, I feel that maybe he's not use to seeing you in that light & since you were taking a walk with your friends baby, questions will pop into his head, not really questions but thoughts. thoughts that maybe he didn't take the time to get to know you & wants a chance to try again...could that be it? enjoy the weekend

I'm sorry but seeing a woman with a child means turn and go the other direction. But I want to have a little Stunner of my own in the near future.

LOL@Owen!! I wont be strolling by YOU with a kid anytime soon! :P
KG: really now!! my granny would say to make hay while the sun shine! ;)
GC: oooh behave! u know u get all mushy when u see them gaping like goldfish.. if u dont. i bet u will!
Stunner & Owen: he knew it wasnt mine!
All: I do think he is genuinely interested and jus hadnt seen that side of me before. There have been more dates since..

Anon: if u just click 'other' you can make up a name. I think u are a repeat Anon and I'd like to have a name to attach to a comment. "AN" would do!

gotta agree with leon, owen and stunner, turn and walk the other way.. Maybe your right tho.. because i've been attracted to women with children already.. but I'm not sure if its the motherly image of the MILFNESS that got me.

Welcome Taylor!
I only recently came to understand the concept of a MILF. And yes.. I most certainly am one! ;)

I don't even think it was a biological clock thing. Our desire to breed is constant - we just can't afford to listen to it. Though there are times.....

I think you may actually be right. I have always liked kids (and old people)... but now that I am in my late 20s I certainly feel like I relate to them differently now. I play with them less and want to teach and protect them more. Paternal instincts kicking in?
